
Alex Reisman
Assistant to the Founders
Alex Reisman (she/her) hails from the metrowest suburbs of Boston and brings diverse work experience to her role of Assistant to the Founders. As someone who was fortunate to grow up with socioeconomic privilege and significant access to opportunity, Alex is committed to expanding her awareness of inequality and contributing to a more inclusive future for all. With her background in environmental studies and a life-long love of nature, she is particularly interested in exploring topics such as climate change and sustainability in dialogues about social equity and inclusion.
Before joining EBDI, Alex was the Operations Coordinator for Niche Plant Shop, an evolving and multifaceted role that included managing deliveries and running events for the shop's multiple locations. Prior to that, Alex worked for four years as the Communications Manager at Stock Rover, a research platform for independent investors. At Stock Rover, she ran training webinars, wrote educational blog posts about investing, and managed the email communications program. As an intern with the Cambridge Energy Alliance, a City of Cambridge program, she redesigned the CEA website and assisted with community outreach.
Alex has an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Washington University in St. Louis. Since high school, she has worked on and off in food service alongside other jobs. Most recently, she worked for three years in the kitchen of the acclaimed restaurant Bondir.
Her extra-curriculars include cooking, creative writing, reading, tending to houseplants, and hanging out with friends and family.
