
Dustin Liu
Consultant
Dustin Liu (he/him) is a son, brother, partner, first-generation Taiwanese-American and proud New Yorker currently living in Boston, MA. You can find him facilitating, thinking, assessing, exploring, creating, researching, writing, designing, experimenting, innovating, and learning through his work at gatherED studio where he helps organizations reach their strategic goals. Outside of his work at EBDI and gatherED studio, he is a Lecturer and Fellow at the Design Life Lab at Stanford University. Formerly, he was a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University and a Learning Experience Designer at the Experience Institute. His current research interests are transformative adult learning experiences that result in behavior shifts and a better understanding of the social psychology of institutional change.
Dustin has worked in organizations such as Breakthrough Collaborative and Matriculate in student-facing roles focused on education access, as well as with organizations such as the Center for Collaborative Education and Ashoka, where he supported the professional learning and network activation of educators in K-12 and post-secondary settings. He has worked in the field of social innovation at New Profit and as the PKG Center Social Innovation Fellow at MIT. His interest in cultivating youth global citizenship and international cooperation led to his appointment as the 9th US Youth Observer to the United Nations and his selection as the US Head Delegate for the Y20, the official youth engagement group of the G20 Summit.
Dustin holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, where he served as the Student Trustee to Cornell’s Board of Trustees and was named a Fulbright Scholar to Malaysia. He also holds a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In his free time, Dustin is a certified Zumba instructor and loves sharing his love of playing the cello in community with others.
